Dinner at Ragnar's is a night out you'll not soon forget, and one any local will recommend. The adventure begins with a nighttime gondola ride, followed by a snowcat-driven sleigh ride under the stars and across the mountain to Ragnar's. Relish a five-course Scandinavian-inspired dinner with selections like the Vinter's Natural Beef Filet or the Pastry de Fjord, a Fresh Seafood Puff Pastry. It's a unique Steamboat experience few get to enjoy. Open Friday, Saturday and holiday nights. Reservations required.

Gondola boarding times are available at 6:00pm only - New Year's Eve boarding begins at 7:00pm.

Elk River Guest Ranch offers a horse drawn sleigh ride through the surrounding wilderness followed by a candlelit teepee dinner. Great for all ages. Pick up times are at 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Shuttle vans will pick you up at your hotel or condo for the ride out to the ranch. Your first stop will be Poppa Ed's Saloon. You'll be served a variety of delicious hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and the bar is open. Outside, Bonnie and Babe, one of our beautiful Belgium draft horse teams, are waiting for you to climb aboard the sleigh, and cover up with warm blankets. After a 20-25 minute trip, you'll arrive, thrilled and chilled, at our unique tepees. Your expertly prepared dinner will be served as you enjoy the warming fire, the glow of the oil lamps, and the soft comfort of the surroundings. Desert, coffee and after dinner drinks will be served back at Poppa Ed's.

Menu

Menu: NY strip steak, pork loin, salmon filet, or roasted chicken. Dinners include roasted potatoes, mixed vegetables, garlic bread, Caesar salad, sauteed mushrooms, freshly baked fruit pie. Complementary drinks: hot cider, hot chocolate, coffee, tea.

Location

For the Tepee Sleigh Ride Dinner and private Sleigh Ride Dinner, the Elk River Guest Ranch will pick guests up at their lodging location. It’s approximately a 30 minute drive up to the ranch, 17 miles North of Steamboat Springs. The Elk River Guest Ranch will call to confirm pick-up times the night before or the morning of the scheduled event. Please provide a cell or local telephone number so that they can reach you.

For the Afternoon Sleigh Ride and Private Sleigh Ride, guests must provide their own transportation.

Saddleback Ranch

Saddleback Ranch is an 8,000 acre fourth generation family owned an operated working cattle ranch. Saddleback ranch is pleased to offer two Sleigh Ride options for you and your family. There is nothing quite as peaceful as taking a sleigh ride at night with the only sounds being the horses walking through the snow, the bells jingling on the harness and the distant howl of a coyote. Relax, cuddle up with a nice warm wool blanket (provided), and take a look at the stars and the moon's light making the snow glisten like diamonds.

Dinner Sleigh Ride

It's a 40 minute ride to the Double Dollar Lodge, you will be greeted with a warm cup of hot chocolate or hot apple cider and the smell of delicious home-cooked meal. During dessert, listen to some old-fashioned entertainment. After dessert, let us teach you how to calf rope. You're sure to have a great time! It's a very family friendly experience! Guests are required to call Saddleback Ranch upon arrival in Steamboat to confirm Dinner Menu and pick-up location.

Hot Chocolate Sleigh Ride

Watch your team driver harness the Belgium horses and then load the sleigh and enjoy an hour-long sleigh ride on Saddleback. After your ride, warm up with hot chocolate at our Longhorn Lodge.
Offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays with a 10:30a pick-up.

Location

Saddleback Ranch provides front door transportation to and from the ranch in brand new luxury vans. Saddleback Ranch is located just outside of Milner, a 15 mile drive from Steamboat Springs. If you wish to drive to the ranch, take HWY 40 West out of Steamboat 10 miles. At mile marker 122 take a left onto county road 178, which will turn into County Road 179. Follow County road 179, 3miles across the rail road tracks, over the river and pass a housing development, the ranch is on the left side of the road.

Hours

Pick-up time for the Dinner Sleigh Ride is 5:15pm and you will return to your condo at approximately 9:30pm.

Soup and Sleigh Ride

Snuggle up for an afternoon sleigh ride with our steady team of Percheron draft horses leading the way on an relaxing ride through the snow. After the ride, meet for lunch in the Roadhouse Lodge for unlimited homemade soup or chile with hot bread. Offered daily at 12:30pm. Complimentary shuttle service provided from Steamboat.

Dinner Sleigh Ride

Hahn's Peak Roadhouse team of Percheron draft horses will take you on a dinner sleigh ride through the snow and under the stars to a delicious family friendly meal. Warm blankets and dinner provided. The sleigh ride is approximately 30 minutes. Offered daily at 5pm and 7pm. Complimentary transportation from Steamboat is available. Pick up time is approximately one hour prior to sleigh ride.

Hot Chocolate Sleigh Ride

Snuggle up for an afternoon sleigh ride with our steady team of Percheron draft horses leading the way on an relaxing ride through the snow. After the ride, warm up in the Roadhouse Lodge with a cup of hot chocolate. Offered daily at 12:30pm. Complimentary shuttle service provided from Steamboat.

Snow Cat Tours

Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Steamboat Lake and surrounding area aboard a snow cat on a 1 hour sightseeing adventure. Finish your tour with a cup of hot chocolate, lunch or dinner at the Roadhouse Lodge. A great alternative to the sleigh ride for guests that want a warmer ride. Tours offered daily at 12:30pm or 5pm. Complimentary shuttle service provided from Steamboat.
