Imagine a fun, informative and invigorating snowshoe with gorgeous views high up on beautiful Mt. Werner guided by a Steamboat Ambassador. Upon completing the showshoe tour you will enjoy a gourmet lunch with a refreshing glass of wine.  

Tours

-Monday Tour:  Departs at 9:45am and snowshoes 2 miles across Duster Trail with lunch at Ragnar's.

-Tuesday - Sunday Tour:   Departs at 10am and snowshoes around the Vista Nature Trail about 1 mile with lunch at Hazie's.

Location

The Guided Gourmet Snowshoe Tour meets at the Information Center located directly across from the Main Ticket Office and Gondola building at the base of the ski area.

Hours

Tuesday to Sunday Tours begins promptly at 10:00am.*
Monday Tour begins promptly at 9:45am.*

*Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the tour to assure a timely departure.

*These are the 2010/2011 winter rates.  Rate includes gondola ride, gourmet lunch with wine, tax & gratuity. 

Steamboat Ambassador Snowshoe Tour

About

The Steamboat Ambassadors conduct a free (with a lift ticket) guided snowshoe tour.  The tours offer breathtaking views of the Yampa Valley and the Flat Top Mountains.  Tours depart from the Information Center at the base of the Gondola daily at 1:00pm.

Snowshoe Rentals available and Foot Pass required for the gondola ride.  Stop by the Information Center at the base of the mountain to sign up and rent your snowshoes, or call 970-871-5444.  Footpass tickets can be purchased at the ski ticket window $10.00 for an adult and $4.00 for a child. This ticket is an all-day ticket to the top of the gondola.

The Information Center is open daily from 8:00am - 5:00pm. 

Participants must posess a valid daily lift ticket, gondola footpass or season pass to access lifts.

Enjoy a winter walk in the woods; come join us on a guided backcountry snowshoe tour.  Whether we hike Rabbit Ears Pass, you'll soak in the best views Steamboat has to offer.  Enjoy some cookies and hot chocolate while escaping the gentle hustle-and-bustle of downtown.  An activity the whole family can enjoy.

Equipment

Insulated and waterproof boots are required and can be rented.  Snowshoes, poles, backpacks, snack and thermos are provided.  Dress warm, as if you were going skiing or snowboarding, with layers you can add or shed.

Meeting Location

Times may vary.  For snowshoe trips, we can provided transportation from our downtown location (kiosk on the corner of 5th & Lincoln, in front of Mahogany Ridge Restaurant), or clients can follow in their own vehicles.

Trip Times:  Half Day trips run from 8:00am to 12:00pm or 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
